Industry specialisms
At MV16, the college equips students aged 16-19 with rigorous academic and vocational programmes designed by subject specialists in a purpose-built environment. Their excellent teaching, strong enrichment and personal development culture mean the students are ready to engage positively with industry. Employers should engage with the college because they provide a pipeline of articulate, motivated young people, primed for higher apprenticeships, and welcome partnerships that bring real-world relevance and work-based experience into the college. The college would like to be able to offer the students who are keen to go onto employment and apprenticeships meaningful work experience placements whilst they complete their studies with the college.
They are increasingly focused on developing deeper links in sectors such as advanced manufacturing, digital technologies, creative industries and service-based professional sectors (e.g. business, marketing, finance). These are areas where their students' academic and vocational preparation aligns strongly with employer needs. Engaging with businesses in these fields will enable them to build bespoke project work, enrichment and work-placement opportunities.
